Srinagar, February 14, 2025 – The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has extended the deputation of three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers—Akshay Labroo, Athar Aamir, and Basharat Qayoom—to Jammu and Kashmir for an additional year. The extension was granted following a request from the Union Territory (UT) Government, highlighting the crucial role these officers play in the region’s administration.
The decision is seen as a strategic move to maintain administrative continuity in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly at a time when governance and developmental projects are gaining momentum. The three officers have been actively involved in key government initiatives, public service delivery, and policy implementation, making their continued presence in the UT highly valuable.
